• What type of accommodation is provided during the tour?

  You will stay for 3 nights at the exclusive G Lodge Amazon, which is comfortable, intimate, and designed with native architectural style and eco-friendly technology. Rooms are simple but comfortable, featuring mosquito netting, flush toilets, solar-heated hot water for showers, and candles for lighting (no electricity).

• Are single rooms available at the G Lodge Amazon?

  The G Lodge Amazon does not have single rooms. Solo travelers or groups with an odd number of participants will be paired up with another passenger of the same gender when the lodge is full.

• What kind of activities can I expect during the tour?

  The tour includes guided wildlife-spotting excursions by foot and by boat into the Tambopata Rainforest. Activities include night walks, canoe trips on oxbow lakes, searching for various bird species, anaconda, giant river otters, and black caiman. You'll also have free time to relax or visit a nearby plantation (optional).

• Are there tree platform activities at the lodge?

  The lodge's tree platforms, which offered a bird's eye view of the forest, have unfortunately been out of use for the last three years.

• What meals are included in the tour price?

  The tour includes 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 3 dinners.

• Who will be our guides for the jungle excursions?

  You will be accompanied by expert local naturalist guides, many of whom are local community members. They are multilingual and possess extensive knowledge of the area's rich flora and fauna.

• What are the physical requirements for this tour?

  This tour has a physical rating of 3, meaning an average level of fitness and mobility is required. Travelers should be able to walk without assistance, climb 3-4 flights of stairs, step on and off small boats, and carry their own luggage.

• What is the recommended currency and tipping etiquette?

  The local currency in Peru is the Nuevo Sol (PEN). It's recommended to bring a combination of US dollar cash and credit/debit cards, though credit card purchases may incur a 5-10% fee. Tipping service providers like waiters and local guides approximately 10% is customary and expected.

• What transportation is included to and from the lodge?

  Arrival and departure transfers to and from the Puerto Maldonado airport are included. All transport between destinations and to/from included activities, such as by car, private van, boat/canoe, and walking, is also covered.

• Are internal flights to Puerto Maldonado included?

  No, internal flights between Lima or Cuzco and Puerto Maldonado are not included in the tour price, but they can be arranged at the time of booking.

• What health precautions should I be aware of?

  Inoculations may be required, and it is your responsibility to consult with your travel doctor for up-to-date medical travel information well before departure. It's also recommended to carry a First Aid kit and hand sanitizers. Proof of double vaccination for COVID-19 may be required for domestic flights and entry into certain establishments in Peru.
